It is in excellent condition with no scratches or cracks. The plastic stopper/plug does have cracking around the edge. The colour, as shown in the pictures, is cobalt blue with gilt (gold) trim. The lettering on the "Tetley's Teas" signs is white with gilt (gold) trim. "Est 1837" signs are in gilt. The "Tea 1" one on the front bumper is in White. Approximate measurements are as shown in picture.

]]> Sat, 31 Jul 2010 22:35:03 +0000 <![CDATA[1 Pool Cue Autographed by Minnesota Fats 1995 Nashville]]> http://www.antiques-worldwide.com/memorabilia/1-pool-cue-autographed-by-minnesota-fats-1995-nashville.html I was on holiday in Nashville the summer before Minnesota Fats died. I had purchased two new pool cues that afternoon. Luckily, we didn't go back to the hotel and I had the cues in the car boot (trunk). We went to dinner at a great old supper club/ music hall/ bar + pool hall. After listening to some great music, the emcee announced that a very special person was with us that night. Lo and behold, it was Minnesota Fats and his very young wife. I can't say he was the size he used to be, but at age 81 (or 94 depending) he moved quite well in his slimmed down size. I was so excited!!!! Wow... he wasn't Paul Newman, but he was the real deal!!!!!!!!!!! THE Hustler!!!! I grabbed the first waiter and asked if he would check to see if Minnesota Fats would autograph the 2 new pool cues. Sure enough. About 20 minutes later, we were ushered into the back office and the great hustler autographed both sticks! I have to admit, I felt a little sad because he was so frail that he was led around by his wife - but hey - many men are led around that way! hehehe The next day, I had to go out and buy 2 more cues that I could actually use. These cues are still unused because of the autographs. There are a few scratches in the paint. These are from taking out of and placing back in the case.
